Slack

Turn a message into a task, run slash commands, complete and comment without leaving Slack, and get DMs for assignments, mentions, and recaps.

By Updated

An owner or admin connects Slack from Settings, Integrations, Slack. Teammates link automatically when their Slack email matches their ToDidIt account. Squad and Business only.

Then invite the ToDidIt app into the channels you use.

Once per workspace, by someone who can install apps in Slack.

  1. Open Settings, Integrations.

Slack connects per ToDidIt workspace, so do it from the workspace whose work should show up in that Slack.

    Open integrations
  2. Authorize the app in Slack.

Slack asks which workspace and which channels. Your Slack admin may have to approve the install, which is a Slack setting rather than a ToDidIt one.

  3. Try /todidit share in a channel.

Search a task and add its card to the conversation. If nothing comes back, the privacy check below is usually the reason.

  • Turn a message into a task with the message shortcut
  • Draft a whole project from a thread with Blueprint
  • `/todidit mine` and `/todidit today` to list your work
  • `/todidit share` to put a task card into a channel
  • Complete, assign, and comment on tasks in place
  • Link unfurls for tasks and projects
  • An App Home tab with assigned, due-today, and recently updated
  • DMs for assignments, mentions, and the Daily and Weekly Win Recaps

Project updates are never posted into a channel unless every human member of that channel is linked to ToDidIt and can already see that work. If even one person cannot, the post is skipped rather than leaking it.

Per-project channel posting is opt-in, configured on the project itself.
