Notifications

A bell in the top bar with the recent six, a full inbox at /notifications with search, and per-event controls for in-app and email.

By Updated

The bell in the top bar shows the six most recent. The full inbox has everything, read and unread, newest first, with mark-all-read, per-row dismiss, and search.

Being assigned a task, being @mentioned in a comment, tasks going overdue or coming due soon, invites, and admin-facing billing events like a To-Did refill nudge.

Settings, Notifications has three parts: a master pause-everything switch, per-event in-app toggles, and email preferences.

The email section also lists the transactional and security messages that are always sent (password and login mail, billing receipts) so you know exactly what arrives even though those cannot be switched off.

There are two levels, and knowing which one you are on saves a lot of guessing. Account settings decide what reaches you at all. A workspace's own settings decide what that workspace is allowed to send.

  1. Start with the account-wide switches.

Settings, Notifications. A master pause covers everything, per-event toggles handle the in-app ones, and the email section lists its own opt-outs.

  2. Read the always-sent list before hunting for a switch.

Login and password mail and billing receipts are named there on purpose. They cannot be turned off, and knowing that is faster than searching for a toggle that does not exist.

  3. Then quiet a specific workspace.

Push and Slack categories, the overdue digest hour, and the due-time reminder lead live on that workspace's settings page rather than here. One busy workspace is usually the real problem, and this turns it down without touching the others.

Tip

A workspace setting layers over the account default rather than replacing it, so the account level is the right place for anything you never want, and the workspace level for anything you only want from somewhere else.
