A JSON archive of your whole account, from Settings or the account menu. No paywall, on any plan, and re-importable.

A structured JSON archive of the account: projects, tasks, the hierarchy, comments, and completion history. It downloads as a file named for the date, and it is the same shape the importer reads, so an export is a real backup rather than a printout.
Available on every plan including Free. Your work is yours, and charging to get it out would be holding it hostage.
For a CSV, use Reports instead. That download is a filtered set rather than the whole account, which is what a spreadsheet usually wants anyway.
For a specific date range, project, or priority rather than everything, use the download on Reports. For a handful of tasks as text, copy them as Markdown.
Worth doing before anything irreversible, and worth doing occasionally regardless.

Open SettingsIn Settings, or straight from the account menu under your avatar. It is one link, not a form: the download starts on click.
Keep the file somewhere that is not this app.
It arrives named for the date, so successive exports sit beside each other rather than overwriting. A backup on the same machine you are backing up is not a backup.
Export one workspace instead, if that is what you need.
Each workspace has its own export beside its billing actions, which is the one to use when you are handing a single client's work over rather than leaving.
Tip
The archive is the same shape the importer reads, so it restores rather than just being readable. For a spreadsheet, Reports exports a filtered set as CSV.

Deleting your account
