Keyboard shortcuts

Single-key navigation, K to capture, Z to undo. Press slash for the full cheat sheet, which is always the current list.

By Updated

Press / from anywhere to open the cheat sheet, or click the small launcher in the bottom-left corner. Cmd / and ? open it too. That sheet is generated from the same list the app binds, so it is never out of date, and everything below mirrors it.

Tip

Single-key shortcuts deliberately do nothing while you are typing in a field, so they can never eat a task name mid-sentence. K is the exception, because a capture box that loses to the field you are in is one you stop trusting.

These are shown for the machine you are reading on, so a Windows reader sees Ctrl where a Mac reader sees the command key.

  • K open Quick Capture, even while you are typing elsewhere
  • Shift K start a new project
  • Z undo the last reversible action
  • Shift T cycle light, dark and system themes
  • Esc close a modal, or go back

A few only mean something while you are selecting.

  • Shift click range-select tasks, from either the checkbox or the row
  • swipe right select a task, on touch devices
  • Esc clear the current selection
