Global search

One typeahead across tasks, projects, workspaces and people, spanning every workspace you belong to. Press s to focus it.

By Updated

Press s from anywhere you are not already typing. On desktop it is a box in the top bar that opens a dropdown as soon as it has focus; on a phone it is a search icon that opens the same thing as a full dialog.

Tip

/ and Cmd / open the keyboard cheat sheet, not search. Slash is the one people reach for first, so it is worth learning s instead.

Results come back in labeled groups: Tasks, Projects, Workspaces and People. It searches every workspace you are a member of rather than just the active one, so you do not have to remember which client a task lived under before you can find it.

Everything it returns is scoped by row-level security in the database, which means it can only ever show you rows you already have access to. There is no configuration for this and no way to widen it.

With the box empty it shows the last three things you opened from search, so it is useful the moment it has focus rather than only after you type. Those recents are kept in your browser, not your account.

Arrow keys move the highlight, Enter opens the highlighted result, Escape closes the whole thing.
