Filters and saved views

Narrow a list by project, priority, due window and tag, then save the combination under a name you will recognize. Free on every plan.

By Updated

Four things, from the filter control in the toolbar above every task list.

  • Projects, where the surface spans more than one.
  • Priority, including None as a choice of its own.
  • Due, as Overdue, Today, This week, or No due date.
  • Tags, from the workspace tag library.

Tip

Active filters show as chips underneath the toolbar, and each one can be dismissed on its own. You should never have to wonder why a list looks emptier than you expected.

Worth doing once for the question you ask most mornings.

  1. Open the filter control above the list.

Press 0 to land on All Tasks, then open the filter control above the list. Projects, Priority, Due and Tags. Combine as many as you like; they narrow together rather than competing.

    Open All Tasks
  2. Pick the combination you keep rebuilding.

Something like Due: This week plus a client tag. The active filters appear as chips under the toolbar so the list is never mysteriously short.

  3. Save it under a name.

Name it after the question it answers rather than its filters. The dropdown shows the view's name whenever the current filters match it, so you can tell a saved view from something you fiddled with.

Once a combination is worth keeping, save it under a name. The dropdown shows the active view's name whenever the current filters match a saved one, so you can tell at a glance whether you are looking at "Client work, this week" or something you fiddled with and forgot.

Views are saved per surface, so a view built for All Tasks belongs to All Tasks and does not clutter the list on a project or in Reports.

Saved views are free on every plan, including Free.
